Removed, not covered up
A black rectangle drawn over a PDF can be moved or copied through. Here every page you redact is rebuilt from a picture of itself with the boxes burnt in, so the words, drawings and pixels under them are not in the file at all.
The rest stays selectable
Words you did not redact are laid back over the page as invisible text in the places they were, so you can still select, search and copy them. Web and email links that sit clear of a redaction keep working, and untouched pages are copied exactly.
Checked before you get it
The finished file is read back before it is offered. If a redacted word, or any part of an original page you redacted, is still anywhere inside it, you get a warning instead of a download. You are also told where a redacted word can still be read elsewhere in the document.
How it works
Three simple steps

Upload your PDF
Drop in the document. Every page opens below, however many there are.
Select or draw
Drag across text and press Redact, or switch to Draw box for pictures and signatures. Show peeks under your redactions, and Undo takes back the last one.
Download the redacted file
Press Redact and download. The file is rebuilt, checked, and saved as a new PDF next to your original.
