About SuperFastFiles

Free online tools for converting, organizing, signing and translating files.

SuperFastFiles is a website of free tools for working with files. You open a tool, add a file and download the result. There is nothing to install, you need an account only for Translate Document and for importing from Google Drive or Dropbox, and the tools work in any modern browser on a computer, phone or tablet.

What It Does

There are 25 tools:

  • Document and image conversion. PDF to and from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG and PNG, plus JPG to PNG, PNG to JPG and WebP to PNG.
  • Merging and organizing. PDF Merger joins several PDFs into one. File Organizer lets you reorder, duplicate and delete the pages of a PDF or Word file, or the sheets of an Excel workbook, and rotate pages.
  • Video, audio and archives. Video Converter reads 27 video formats and writes any of 13, copying the picture and sound across unchanged wherever the new format can hold them. Audio Extractor saves the soundtrack of a video as MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OPUS or OGG. Archive Converter reads 38 archive formats, including ZIP, RAR, 7Z and ISO, and repacks the files inside into any of 29 without changing them.
  • Compression and passwords. Compress PDF makes a PDF smaller, at the level you choose. Password Protect PDF adds a password to a PDF, and Unlock PDF removes one you know.
  • Redaction. Redact PDF removes the text and images in the areas you select or draw from the file itself, rather than hiding them under a black box.
  • Electronic signing. Sign PDF places a typed signature on a PDF, with a date and a company stamp if you want them. You can attach a Signature Certificate page that records when you signed, what you placed and where, and fingerprints of the original file and of the signed file before that page was added.
  • Translation. Translate Document translates a Word or PDF document into more than 100 languages and shows you every translated page, so you can check and edit it before you download it as a Word file or a PDF.
  • Repair. Repair PDF rebuilds PDFs that will not open, and reports how many pages it recovered and what is missing.

Who It Is For

Anyone who needs to do something with a file and does not want to install software for it: a student who has to hand in a PDF rather than a Word file, someone signing and returning a form, an office combining several reports into one PDF, or someone who only wants the sound from a video. It is built for getting a job done, not for storing or managing documents.

What Makes It Different

  • Many tools run instantly. PDF Merger, File Organizer (for PDFs and spreadsheets), Sign PDF, PDF to Excel, and the conversions between PDF and image formats and between image formats run in your browser, on your own device. The file is not uploaded, so there is no upload or queue to wait for.
  • We run our own servers. SuperFastFiles is not a front end for a single outside service. Video Converter, Audio Extractor, Archive Converter, Repair PDF, Redact PDF and Translate Document run on servers we operate, with the processing set up for each tool. Some document tools, such as PDF to Word, Word to PDF and Compress PDF, use a specialist document conversion provider, and Translate Document uses a machine translation provider for the translation itself.
  • Tools say what happened. Repair PDF tells you how many pages it could not recover rather than handing you a shorter file without comment. Compress PDF tells you when a file is already about as small as it can get, instead of handing back a bigger one. Redact PDF reads the finished file back and warns you if a redacted word is still inside it.
  • Free, with no watermarks. Every tool except Translate Document can be used without an account, and we do not add watermarks to your files. Translate Document is for account holders, with up to 100,000 characters a day for each account.
  • We do not keep your files. Processing is automated, and nobody at SuperFastFiles looks at your files. A file uploaded to our servers is deleted automatically about five minutes after you close the page. The document conversion provider says it deletes files within three hours. A file it converts comes back to you through our servers, or through our website host if they cannot take it, and our servers delete it once you have downloaded it, or about five minutes after you close the page if you have not. The text you translate with Translate Document may be kept by the translation provider. The Privacy Policy explains how each tool handles files.

How It Works

Choose a tool, add your file from your device, or from Google Drive or Dropbox if you are signed in, and download the result. Most documents and images are ready in a few seconds; a long video can take several minutes. Keep the page open until you have downloaded your file. For the tools that run on our servers, closing the page cancels the job, and a file cannot be recovered once it has been deleted.

Accounts

An account is optional for every tool except Translate Document. You can create one with an email address and a password, or sign in with Google. While you are signed in, every tool can import files from Google Drive or Dropbox: you pick the file in Google's or Dropbox's own window, and the tool receives it as if you had chosen it from your device. An account does not store files.

What It Is Not

  • Not storage. SuperFastFiles does not store files, in an account or anywhere else. Keep your own copies, and download what you need before you leave the page.
  • Not a certified service. Translate Document produces a machine translation, not a certified one. Sign PDF applies an electronic signature that you place yourself. It is not a certificate-based digital signature, and we do not check who signs.
  • Not a substitute for checking. Conversions, translations and redactions are automated. Check the result before you rely on it or share it.
